Brainy
The Platform

One brain underneath it all.

Everything we make stands on the same ground: a voice that works beside you and forgets nothing, an engine quick enough that you never wait on it, and an open foundation anyone is free to read. Meet them.

The voice

Anima

Anima is the voice you work with everywhere. You ask, decide, and delegate in plain words — Anima drafts beside you, carries the rest to the right place, and shows its work. It remembers everything you make and learns how you work, so nothing ever has to be re-explained. And when people need to agree, it keeps what was decided, so the same ground is never argued twice.

One conversation, everywhere
The same voice in the Workshop, the Venue, and at your desk, with the same memory of you.
It remembers everything you make
Nothing re-taught, nothing re-explained — and it tidies overnight, so the morning starts where you left off.
Decisions that stay decided
What was agreed, by whom, and why — kept on the record and searchable forever, so nothing gets re-litigated.
Your word is the gate
Big calls come to you as clear choices with honest trade-offs. Nothing irreversible happens without you.
It shows its work
Every answer unfolds into what was read, what was done, and why.

One voice everywhere you work — it remembers what you made, and it remembers what you agreed.

The same agreement rail runs the team building Soulcraft itself — twenty-plus projects, one record.

Your data

Everything Anima remembers for you lives in its own isolated store — yours alone. Export all of it in one gesture; erase all of it in one gesture. Never mined, never shared, never anyone else’s.

Designed to honor the strictest privacy rights by construction — including GDPR’s data portability and right to erasure, built into the storage layer itself rather than promised in a policy.

Nothing you do here trains anyone else’s model. What you teach it teaches exactly one thing: your own work, for you, yours to erase.

The engine

Brainy

Brainy is the engine room of the platform — one install that is the whole database: meaning, connections, and facts in one store, native code underneath. It already runs everything we make, growing for years — millions of moments, then more — with answers that still arrive before you finish the thought. And it runs on machines you own, so the speed never comes with a monthly bill or a stranger holding your data.

Fast at any size
A thousand memories or a hundred million, answers come back in the blink of an eye — native code underneath, with published latency budgets, built to the billion-row design on one commodity box.
Nothing lost, ever
Every saved moment survives crashes, restarts, and power cuts — and the engine checks its own work each time it starts.
Deploys with zero startup
A restart attaches to its files and serves — no rebuild, no dark window.
Time travel, built in
Every change is a generation in the log, so any past moment reopens exactly as it was. Ask what you knew then, not just what you know now.
Five databases, one install
Anywhere else this is a vector database, a graph database, a document store, a search index, and sync jobs to keep them agreeing. Brainy is all of them answering as one, so nothing ever drifts.
Triple intelligence, one question
Every query can ask three ways at once: by meaning ("like this"), by connection ("linked to that"), by fact ("where status = active"). One call, one answer, no glue code.
Your data has an address
The whole store is also a filesystem: folders, paths, files you can browse — the same graph wearing a familiar shape, so "in this folder" is a query scope, not a separate system.
A database that is a library, not a server
npm install and it runs inside your app: no cluster, no connection strings, no ops team. Your data is files on your own disk.
Meaning built in
Text goes in, search-by-meaning comes out — the engine embeds natively on your machine. No embedding API, no per-token bill, nothing leaves the box.
Nothing to tune
No schemas to migrate, no indexes to design, no knobs. The engine watches its own workload and sets its workers, caches, and pacing itself.
A thousand small brains, not one big database
One isolated store per person or per venue by construction — a breach of one is a breach of one.
Sovereign by construction
Your data lives in files on machines you own, in an open format with an MIT reader. Nothing depends on a cloud, nothing calls out, nothing is metered. Compliance teams call it data sovereignty; here it is just how the engine works.
No telemetry. None.
Verification is offline and nothing phones home: not opt-out, not opt-in. The engine contains no beacon at all, and a test in the suite fails if one ever grows back.

A memory that proves itself — every time it starts, the engine verifies nothing has gone missing before it answers a single question.

A published latency budget the engine must meet to ship — millisecond-class answers at one, ten, and one hundred million entities, enforced as release gates.

Launching soon as the installable database — and it already runs the entire Soulcraft platform in production today.

Efficiency is the architecture: what takes others a rack takes us one machine.

The open foundation

Open Brainy

Open Brainy is your data, owned. The same API and the same on-disk format as Brainy, MIT-licensed and complete: the code that reads your data is yours forever.

Your data is yours
Open format, open engine, on your own disk. No lock-in, no hostage formats: anything Brainy writes, Open Brainy reads, forever.
Proven identical
Both engines pass one conformance suite: every query answers the same, or refuses by name. Trusting the open one is verifying the fast one.
Start here, grow later
Build on Open Brainy free. When you need native speed, you swap the engine, not your code: one install line, same everything.

Your data, owned — the code that reads it is yours forever.

Fully open source, MIT — the complete engine, not a teaser. source.soulcraft.com/soulcraftlabs/open-brainy · npm @soulcraftlabs/brainy

One contract, proven: both engines declare contract 1 and answer an identical conformance suite — every query operator agrees by test, not by intention.

In July 2026 the whole platform — every service, every brain — moved to new ground in a day. No hyperscaler, no lock-in; nothing about your data had to change — because a Brainy store is files you can pick up and move.

Nothing irreversible happens without a human’s word. Anima counsels, proposes, and prepares — but the calls that matter wait for you. Your word is the gate; the big decisions rise to your table and sit there until you speak.
